NAHARLAGUN, Nov 08: Stage was set for construction of India’s third Film and TV Institute (FTVI) at Jollang-Rakap in Papum Pare district with traditional bhumi puja on Friday in its 253-acre site amidst lush green vegetation overlooking the nearby villages.
After finalization of its tender process, construction agency KK Construction owner Hu Tatu, during function, sought support of villagers for smooth execution of the project. “I assure to complete the Rs 128 crore-project in record two-year if whole hearted cooperation is extended”, he told the gathering including large number of GBs and leaders of adjoining areas.
Highlighting significance of the much awaited institute, Kolkata-based Satyajit Ray Institute of Film and Television Institute faculty Prof A Dutta, said that it will produce and nurture talented local youth in the fields of cinematography, sound and lighting engineering, direction and other related subjects.
IPR director Obang Tayeng, in his address, said that the GoAP is taking every
possible step for early completion of the project. Congratulating the people, he called upon them to be a part of the project and help in building it as a great institute of the entire country.
Officers of various CPWD wings including EE Rohit Meena assured to complete the project with active support of the people. (DIPR)
