Keep Capital Complex neat and green: ANYA

ITANAGAR, Nov 09: Exhorting all residents of Capital Complex to keep the environment neat and green, ANYA president Byabang Joram on Saturday said it would help them to lead a healthy life.

While leading his team to conduct swachhta abhiyan-cum-awareness programme at Ganga Lake (Gyakar Sinyi) near here, he told media that it should be efforts of all residents to ensure a green environment to stay fit with a sound mind.

Polythene and many substances are hazardous to environment while few of them poisonous, he said and cited example of many nations facing pollution problem and  global warming.  Terming them serious threat to survival of living beings, he exhorted one and all to realize the importance of cleanliness.

Terming Ganga Lake as an important tourist place of the state, he said its natural beauty should be maintained to woo tourists.  He urged Capital Complex administration to free it from several encroachments and provide manpower to maintain glory of the historic lake.

He also appealed to chief minister and tourism minister for allocating sufficient fund for maintenance and renovation of Lake’s dilapidated infrastructures.

Describing mythological relevance of Gyker Syini, Papum Pare district ANYA unit president Likha Robin referred to ancestral record and treated as a monument. Around 50 dustbins have been installed within Lake for the tourists to use, he added.
