Renovated market complex to benefit farmers:  DyCM

TEZU, Dec 06: Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, after inaugurating renovated Agriculture Produce Market Committee wholesale market complex here on Friday, expressing his happiness, saying it is great initiative for district people. The farmers of the region will greatly benefit from the market complex spread over 1.53 hectares, he said.

The GoAP is sensitive to needs and concerns of the farmers, he said and lauded Lohit district administration for this proactive steps. He also distributed uniforms and certificates to shopkeepers.

Tezu MLA  Karikho Kri also spoke.

The APMC Market, with its various innovative features is one of its kind in the state as it boast of a 24×7 police beat with 24×7 CCTV cameras. There are total 92 stalls of which 30 allocated to fish and meat sellers, 20 to vegetables sellers and rest to SHGs, agriculture, veterinary, fishery and horticulture FPOs.

A volleyball court for recreational purpose of the youth has been built within the complex besides a multi-cultural stage with complete bamboo theme, where musical band can perform for entertainment.

The complex has refrigerated storage room, sanitized godown, 24×7 water and power supply, dustbins to segregate dry and wet waste, placed at all strategic locations with theme ‘Swachta He Seva’.

The produces sold in the market Tezu are 100% organic and are duly verified by department concerned to ensure quality and hygiene. The sellers have colour coded uniform with a set of jacket, gloves and cap. The fish seller has blue colour uniform, meat seller red colour, agriculture produce seller wear green colour and SHGs and FPO sellers yellow colour.

The complex has confectionaries, tea and grocery stalls. Agriculture FPO has an office including for executive members.

MLA Tezu/Sunpura,  Karikho Kri, Lohit DC  Prince Dhawan, SP Dr D.W.Thongon, Assistant Commissioner Sunny Kumar Singh, HoDs, public leaders, GBs and SHGs, among others, were  present. (PRO)
