ITANAGAR, Jan 24: All preparations are over in Arunachal Pradesh to join the nation in celebrating71st Republic Day in a grand manner on January 26.
Governor Brig. (Retd) B D MIshra will unfurl the tricolor, take salute and address the people while chief secretary Naresh Kumar will announce names of state awardees.
The final touch has also been given across the state for the celebration with elaborate security arrangement in all districts, strict checking of incoming people, deployment of required cops to maintain law and order, , DGP R P Upadhyaya he told media persons here.
Dittoing the DGP, Capital DC Komkar Dulom termed the day a special occasion to celebrate with a passion as this day in 1950 the Constitution of India came into effect replacing the Govt of India Act, 1935 as the governing document of this vast nation and became an independent Republic.
The ceremonial march past at IG Park here this year will be different with eight security force contingents – 138Bn CRPF, 31st Bn ITBP, India Reserve 12th NAP Bn, platoons of 1st IRBn, fire & emergency services, APP lady, bands of PTC and VKV; students’ platoons – NCC boys & girls, Govt & VKV. This will be followed by tableau display by Arunachal Pradesh Energy Development Agency, education IPR, social forestry & horticulture departments.
Blood donation camp & awareness camp on population census and cultural display by troops – five of students and 10 traditional teams – would offer entertainment to the masses at the venue, the DC said, and exhorted all sections of people to join the celebration enthusiastically.
Arunachal Pradesh is perhaps the only state which celebrates national days with great fervor for which all schools, colleges and offices across the state have prepared for the R-Day while most of the MLAs are in their respective district HQ to unfurl the tri-colour that day.
