Shed difference to contribute for higher RGU ranking: VC

RONO HILLS, Feb 12: It is high time for all to shed differences and contribute to overall growth  for higher national and global ranking of Rajiv Gandhi University, said vice chancellor Prof. Saket Kushwaha  in his inaugural address to  a day-long orientation programme on academic assessment and accreditation 2020 here on Wednesday.

This would help dissemination of information and clear doubts to avoid miscommunication and confusions, he said, and advocated special focus on quality and quantitative outputs. Stressing on committed efforts, he expressed that the joint efforts of internal quality assessment cell and Institute of Distance Education (IDE) would reap benefit during next assessment and accreditation by National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC) of the UGC.

The RGU pre-academic audit of the university is scheduled on February27 and 28 next, he said and called for quality education which would ensure nurturing human potentialities.

“Together we can design a learning environment for the society”, Cochin-based Quality Management System Certification (QMPG) vice president-cum-resource person Dr. Assissi Menachery said in his keynote address while highlighting characteristics of an institution. Advocating to developing RGU as a university of excellence, he suggested for a concerted effort involving all stakeholders to address ways and means to promote academic environment.  He also suggested ways for qualitative assessment and holistic accreditation.

IQAC director of Prof. RC Parida earlier said that RGU would go for dual mode accreditation covering regular tor and distance learning modes

Registrar in-charge Dr. David Pertin called for removing complexities and confusions about revised NAAC format and urged the university fraternity to prepare for the assessments with positive mindset, according to a RGU release.
