RGU growth potential marvelous: NAAC

RONO HILLS, Feb 28: The Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) has tremendous potentiality for growth, said UGC’s three-member pre-National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) team after completing their two-day mission on Friday.

The team – Assam University’s Prof. Niranjan Roy and Dibrugarh University’s Prof. Ajanta Borgohain Rajkonwar (members) -, while expressing their satisfaction saying the lone central varsity of the state has bright scope to get top grad accreditation. They stressed on uploading instant data validation and verifications in RGU website and hold student satisfaction survey soon.

They suggested for concentrating on strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and challenges aftr thorough   analysis. The curricular, teaching learning, research and consultancy, student support and governance, best practices and other 35 indicators should be documented before NAAC peer team’s visit. Aadvocating mentoring system to benefit students, they said that RGU need to go for more collaborations and international exposures.

Applauding the team members for their observations and suggestions would motivate the university fraternity to rise to higher pedestal, vice chancellor Prof. Saket Kushwaha said and urged faculty members and researchers for more publications of their research outputs.

Pro-VC Prof. Amitava Mitra, registrar in-charge Prof. Tomo Riba and internal quality assurance cell director Prof. RC Parida also spoke, according to a RGU release.
