Suspected man not COVID-19 positive: DMO

PASIGHAT, Mar 25: Reacting to rumour circulating in WhatsApp that one Akash Sharma of Pasighat Bazzar, who had returned from Chennai, is alleged to be COVID-19 positive, East Siang DMO Dr Kaling Dai, in a release, said that district surveillance officer verified it to be absolutely false and baseless.

All those returned from infected states are put to home quarantine for at least for 14 days as per standard operating procedure and quarantined person is advised to maintain social distancing from rest of the family members and confined to his household. He is also advised to report to nearest health facility if develops symptoms like fever, cough and breathing difficulty.

All quarantined households will be served with a notice that unwanted visitor such homes is restricted. All home quarantined those returned from infected states are not COVID-19 patients bust enlisted as suspect.

Therefore, public are hereby informed that pasting of quarantine notice should not be taken as COVID-19 positive patient and urged to restrict movement of home quarantine person in their locality. In case of any quarantined person is seen mixing in public or found loitering around out of quarantine house the case may be informed to district control room at 8794837994/ 0368-2222253 for legal action.
