Active +COVID cases rises to 21: Dr Jampa

NAHARLAGUN, Jun 01: The number of COVID-19 in Arunachal Pradesh rose to 21 taking the total to 22, including 21 active positive and one recovered till June 1, sate surveillance officer Dr L Jampa said in daily bulletin.

Of total 21, 16 are returnees from Haryana, 1 each from Delhi and Chennai. All returnees are asymptomatic and will be managed in COVID care centers as  zone classification based on red, orange or green based on numbers of active COVID-19 cases and containment zones has been done as per May 17 guidelines of Union H&FW, he said.

The newly detected district-wise positive cases are Changlang (16), Tawang (1) and Namsai (1). All were kept in quarantine facility (QF) as per SOP for returnees, he said.

Meanwhile, on Monday Chief Minister Pema Khandu, told press persons that of total 8282 samples tested till Sunday, 7, and 015 were tested negative while results of 1263 awaited.

“Total 3496 persons are in QFs while 7968 are put in home quarantine,” he said, adding “Our efforts are to detect positive cases in QFs so that the spread of the virus could be checked.

However, pointing out that the number of returnees has been increasing with lockdown relaxation which may take the positive cases to 100 very soon,   apprehended prominent contractor Ha Tatu.
