4 ULFA-I cadres nabbed in Arunchal’s TCL region 

ITANAGAR, Jun 28: Four cadres of United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) were apprehended by security forces in Changlang and Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh, a top ranking official source said.

Assam Rifles troops along with police launched a joint operation in Changra, Kuthung and Shongko Havin area of Changlang and Tirap districts on Friday based on human intelligence inputs on the infiltration of ULFA-I militants to Tirap-Changlang-Longding (TCL) region of the hilly state, the source said.

Those arrested were identified as Tiksher Moran alias Arjun Asom, Arup Dowarah alias Anchon Asom and Surajeet Dowarah alias Khamon Asom and Jintu Asom. However, the nabbed ULFA-I militants during preliminary investigation revealed that they were trained in Taga area in Myanmar.

Four pistols, magazines, 20 rounds of AK series rifle ammunition, eight rounds SLR ammunition, two mobile phone handsets, two pairs of ULFA-I badges and other warlike stores were also recovered from them, the source added.
