Terming recruitment guidelines defective, AAPSU seeks review

ITANAGAR, July 04: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) president Hawa Bagang and GS Tobom Dai  terming revised guidelines for recruitment of PRTs & TGTs under SSA/ISSE by February 18 Cabinet meeting unjustified demanded its immediate reconsideration.

Pointing out that the AAPSU has been raising issues to improve health & education sectors of the state, particularly against politicization of education while recruiting teachers, in a memorandum to chief minister on Saturday, it said that the revised guidelines are anti-student, defective & smacks of ulterior motive.

There is no logic in inclusion of PR representative and two other responsible members without mentioning any criteria and mode for their selection, it said while expressing shock over the Cabinet minutes.

Framing guidelines for recruitment for selection on contractual basis under the flagship programme by a five-member selection board to be headed by DCs with a PR representative and two qualified & respected citizens from the district concerned along with otter guidelines.

The Cabinet has also fixed criteria & mode of selection which has been based on qualification (80% weightage) & walk-in interview (20% weightage). Moreover, a letter was writted to the DCs-cum-DPO (ISSE) on June 22 directing them to strictly follow the revised guidelines approved by the Cabinet. The same letter also warned against any deviation.
