Ningombam’s election to HI to benefit NE: Haider

ITANAGAR, July 10: The Hockey Arunachal (HA) congratulated veteran hockey player-cum-senior journalist Gyanendra Ningombam on his unanimous elected as Hockey India (HI) honourary president.

A resident of Khongman zone-I in Imphal East district of Manipur, the septuagenarian hockey lover has long been associated with promotion of hockey in his state with commitment since last four decades. He is instrumental in producing eminent international hockey players from the state. He has served as erstwhile Manipur Hockey Association general secretary and serving no as MH senior vice president and HI.

HA president Gumjum Haider the of Hockey Arunachal, on behalf of hockey lovers congratulated him on his election to the coveted post and hoped that he would popularize hockey in NE states, Arunachal Pradesh in particular, to benefit emerging players.
