Midpu COVID hospital still not ready: Libang

ITANAGAR, July 30: The proposed 35-bedded prefabricated dedicated COVID-19 health centre (DCHC) at Midpu will not be made operational till all infrastructures are in place, said H&FW Minister Alo Libang said here on Thursday.

All departments and agencies are working hard to speed up the progress which has been affected by heavy rain falls, he said, adding the construction agency has sought time till August 7 which has been asked not to compromise with work quality.

It was supposed to be operational from July 31 but major works are yet to be complete. The hospital will function only after putting in place all facilities to the satisfaction of doctors. Then only health department would take over the hospital.

Meanwhile, while lauding all efforts for developing the DCHC, All Nyishi Youth Association (ANYA) asked the construction agency  not to compromise with work quality..

The early completion of project is necessary to treat COVID-19 patients, it said and asked health department to monitor work progress and its quality.

Meanwhile, with recovery of  nine more infected cops of ICR on Thursday, there number rose of 28 of total 37 infected, SP Tumme Amo said and sought physical, mental and moral support of the masses by following all safety rules to avoid infections  and fight the killer  Corona virus.
