Veteran INC leader’s death mourned

ITANAGAR, July 30: Veteran Congress leader & APCC vice president Tachu Hina breathed his last around 2.30 am on Thursday at Upper Suabnsiri district hospital, Daporijo after a sudden stroke.

Born on 5th May, 1964, he was about 56, and left behind his wife, 3 each daughters and sons.

AICC general secretary Luizinho Falerio, who led the mourners, in his message, termed him as a dynamic leader of the state and loved by one and all for shouldering his all responsibilities with dedication. He will be remembered for his dedication for his last breath.

AICC secretary-cum-Arunachal in-charge Zenith M Sangma, recalling his long association with late Hina, said his death is great loss for the party.

Expressing deep shock over the passing away of the loyal INC leader, APCC president-cum-MLA Nabam Tuki termed him as a simple, kind hearted and disciplined leader.

He will be remembered for his invaluable contributions for the welfare of the people of the state, Upper Subansiri district in particular, while serving, who had served the party in various capacities. His untimely demise is a great loss for the party, people of the district in general for his selfless services, Tuki said in message, on behalf of the rank and file of the party, conveyed deep sense of condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.

All Arunachal Pradesh Panchayat Parishad chairman Sushil Nalo and secretary general Sangha Tagik joined the mourners. Nalo recalled that when he saw him serving as a teach in Paktung village when he was a student of class-VI. This proves the multi-faceted services he gave to the state, the duo added,

Upper Subansisir DCC president Taring Dui, in a message, said besides the party, his death was a great loss for Tagin society.

“He was down to earth leader whose death has created a huge gap. He was first generation graduate of Tagin society,” Taliha MLA Nyato Rigiya said.

“Though death is inevitable, but it was totally unexpected in his case and we all are shocked,” said former Damporijo MLA Larbin Nasi over telephone from late leader’s residence, adding that the last rites would be performed at 12.30 pm Friday.

Late Hina has been serving the party since 1978 -Daporijo BCC  GS (1988-1992), Upper Subansiri DCC GS (1992-2000), APCC secretary (2001-2002), DCC president (2002-2004), APCC GS (2005-2007 and 2009 to 2017), APCC vigilance cell chairman (2008-2009) and vice  president (2017 to till date.

He was also gram panchayat member (1987-1992), Upper Subansiri Zilla Parishad vice president  (1992-1996), in-charge VP (1996-2003), Panchayat Parishad convenor (2000-2009), Lok Adalat member (1993-2003), District Consumer Redressal Forum member (2007-2009), M/s Dapo Large Size Multipurpose Cooperative Societies  chairman (1990-2000), besides associated with many NGOs.

All leaders conveyed their deep sense of condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
