SAGALEE, Aug 30: Chief secretary Naresh Kumar while interacting with Arunachal State Rural Livelihood Mission (ArSRLM) supported SHGs and primary level federations (PLFs) of Pech, Toru, Meb and Gotopu villages during a visit to CD block here on Sunday exhorted them to work hard in unison.
Appreciating their outstanding performance, he said that the GoAP would extend help through financial institutions make them role models for the state. He also informed about benefits of financial mobilisation and provisions of Govt loans from banks.
Sagalee with good agro-climatic conditions has huge potential for agri-horticulture sector, he said and advised the farmers to take up horticultural cultivation to boost their earning. He assured that the GoAP provide marketing linkage for their products.
Responding to Gotopu SHGs’ plea to build a concrete rural market shed and canteen to replace the present OB type house, Kumar gave commitment as that would cater to the needs of local populace and neighbouring districts.
Planning commissioner P.S Lokande briefed about Govt plan to facilitate forward and backward linkages and benefits of Kisan Credit Cards while APRB chairman sought proposals for customer service points.
However, SHG members in various villages shared their experiences while few said that ArSRLM and PLF have transformed and empowered them and thanked ArSRLM for making them self-reliant.
The team, including RD & Agri-Horti secretaries, Papum Pare DC Pige Ligu, directors, senior officers and bankers, interacted with custom hire centre representative at Pech village, farmers producer group under Agri-Horti Cluster Farm scheme at Meb village and visited rural market at Gotopu. (DIPRO)
