ITANAGAR, Oct 17: The three-day state level ‘Red Ribbon Quiz Competition’ organised by the Arunachal Pradesh State AIDS Control Society, Directorate of Health Services, in a hotel at Naharlagun concluded on Saturday, with Milli Bharat and Tai Gunia from Government College Doimukh winning the competition.
Besides bagging a cash prize of Rs 20,000, they also received certificate and memento.
Tapi Tony and Dug Niting of Rajiv Gandhi Government Polytechnic College here adjudged 1st runners up with cash prize of Rs 15,000 along with certificate and momento while Ayan Serfiroz Haque and Arsis Sharma of NERIST, Nirjuli adjudged 2nd runners up with cash prize of Rs 10,000 and certificate and momento.
The grand finale and valedictory function was attended by Dr Emi Rumi, Director Family Welfare, GoAP as chief guest and Dr A K Mishra, SLO, NSS, Directorate of Higher and Technical Education, GoAP as special guest.
Dr Rumi, in his speech, lauded the APSACS for organising various awareness and competitive programmes for youths.
Congratulating the participants, he urged them to be a brand ambassador of Red Ribbon Clubs in their respective colleges and universities. He also highlighted the importance of youth in social development and appreciated their participation in such activities.
On the occasion, Tashor Pali, Dy Director (IEC), APSACS presenting a detailed report on the State level Quiz competition informed that altogether 22 colleges and universities took part in the contest.
The winners of the state level quiz competition shall represent Arunachal Pradesh in the regional level being organised by National AIDS Control Organisation, Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
