Villagers stage protest, demand  land patta and rehabilitation

DHEMAJI, Oct 29: Over 400 people of Dhemaji district of Assam who are victims of recent flood and land erosion, took out a procession in various villages before a group submitted a memorandum enlisting their demands to Dhemaji DC here on Wednesday.

The procession,  led by state leader Biren Deka, Ekta Parishad coordinator Nayan Tara and Ujjal Chetia, was in support of demands, including land patta for landless, rehabilitation of all flood and land erosion victims, building embankment along Jiadhol Komotia River to protect their land from erosion.

After accepting the memorandum, DC Naurshing Power assured to take up their matters with the state government.
