PALIN, Feb 23: The Kra Daadi District Law Students Union (KDDLSU) under the aegis of District Tobacco Control Programme (DTCP) Tuesday organized a tobacco free drive here.
The drive was led by Town Magistrate Rido Tarak along with district program officer Dr Gemi Tang, district consultant Tamchi Para and OC special branch Tarh Talam.
Addressing the gathering, Tarak appealed to the people to abandon the sale of all tobacco products. He said that, anyone not heeding to the request would face charges under the Narcotics Act.
He also specifically appealed to the youth to avoid the use of tobacco products.
Meanwhile, the KDDLSU also submitted a memorandum to the district administration requesting to check the price hikes of daily products sold in the district.
