PIPU, Feb 28: Chayangtajo lawmaker Hayeng Mangfi has called upon the people of his constituency to support him in his endeavour to develop the area.
“Without the support of villagers and people of Pipu circle I alone can’t bring all round development in the circle which, has been neglected for many decades,” Mangfi said.
The BJP MLA said that the people of the circle need to change their mindset and to put efforts to bring new projects in the circle.
He said the trend of requesting for ‘repairing projects’ works should ended and more focus must be to bring new schemes and projects for development.
Mangfi, who was attending the Nyokum Yullo celebration at Pipu last Friday said that his efforts is to bring major development projects in his constituency. But due to the global pandemic, nothing could be done as per schedule, he said.
“I hope, as the cases of Covid-19 are decreasing and the transportation has been relieved, now we can at least see better road and telecom communication in the constituency,” he said.
Responding to the memorandum submitted by the Nyokum Yullo organizing committee for the construction of a new rostrum in the circle, Mangfi assured to work on it on priority for the greater interest of the people.
Mangfi, while extending his greetings to the Nyishi community, requested them to celebrate the occasion in the purest form as it was celebrated by the ancestors.
Attending the celebration as chief guest, Special Project Director (SPD-ISSE) Nangram Pinkap assured to help the people for the overall improvement in the education sector in the circle.
He also requested the people not to mix religion and tradition.
“Religion is individual but festival is our identity,” he added.
East Kameng District Project Coordinator (EK-DPC) Moromi Tang said that the change in providing better education facilities in the circle could only be possible with the support of the village elders.
She said that the education department would soon launch “Padna Likhna Abhiyaan” for the age old people and requested the villagers to make the best use of the programme.
She also assured to look into the needs of subject teachers in the circle as requested by the people.
