ITANAGAR, Mar 02: Home Minister Bamang Felix on Tuesday informed that the state government has so far released an amount of Rs 139.25 crore for infrastructure development and modernization of police in troubled Tirap, Changlang and Longding district of the state under the TCL Action Plan.
Responding to a question raised in the assembly from BJP MLA Laisam Simai, Felix informed that the TCL Action Plan was initiated in the year 2010-11 and finally the revised estimate of Rs 212.85 crore was sanctioned by the Home ministry in 2018-19.
He said an amount of Rs 156.20 crore was earmarked under the plan for creation of infrastructure including construction and development of 20 police stations including nine new and 11 old besides, an amount of Rs 56.65 crore for communication, purchasing arms and paying salaries.
“Out of the 20 police stations taken up under the plan, five are in Tirap district, 10 in Changlang and another five in Longding. Till date the state government has release an amount of 139.25 crore for TCL Action plan and an amount of Rs 77.90 crore was released by the Centre,” Felix disclosed.
Out of the state government share, an amount of Rs 82.60 crore was released under infrastructure development in two installments while an amount of Rs 56.65 crore under non-infrastructure component.
Responding to another question from former Chief Minister Nabam Tuki, RFelix informed the house that the state witnessed a total of 111 fire accidents between January to December 31, last year.
He said that at present the state has 22 fire stations with another at Hawai in Anjaw district under construction.
The home minister appealed the member to create awareness among the people on safety measures to avoid fire mishaps in the state, a regular phenomenon.
