No clue of missing AR jawan even after three months

AALO, March 03: The whereabouts of Assam Rifles jawan R Karcho who, went missing from 34 Assam Rifles headquarters at Maram under Senapati district of Manipur on November 22 last, is yet to be known despite relentless efforts by his family members here.

The family members are disturbed and agonized for more than three months the moment they received verbal information from Havildar B N Prasad about Karcho’s missing.

On receiving the information, the aggrieved family members filed a FIR at Aalo police station.

Two family members – head constable of second APPBn Ragmo Karcho, elder brother of the missing person, along with TGT Ige Karcho nephew, met in charge of Mao police station on February 4 last to hand over him a copy of the FIR filed, who in turn forwarded it to the CO of Assam Rifles’ 34th Battalion.

The family members also went to meet the CO Lt Col on February 6 last but he was not available in the station.

The police did their best to trace the missing jawan at different probable locations of Maram, Tadubi, Makhan, Senapati, Mao Gate areas for 7 seven days from February 9 to 15, but remained unsuccessful.

The family members are yet to get the formal report and status on his missing from the camp even after 100 days of receiving that telephonic call on his missing.

The family wants that the case be sent to union home ministry and the state home department for a logical conclusion. (DIPRO)
