NAHARLAGUN, Apr 07: While the Centre has directing state and UT Govts, particularly those recording high rise in new COVID-19 cases as well as to intensify the vaccination drive, Arunachal Pradesh is not legging behind either.
State National Rural Health Mission nodal officer Dr. Diman Padung informed that total 87,949 (1st dose) and 26,980 (2nd dose) were vaccinated till Tuesday.
The beneficiaries included 61,439 health care workers (HCWs) and front line workers (FLWs), he said, adding 17,335 HCWs were administered the 1st dose and 12,783 HCWs the 2nd dose. Total 35,503 FLWs received the 1st dose while and 11,738 FLWs the 2nd dose, he informed.
The common people of 45+ age number stood at 35,111 (1st dose) and 2,459 (2nd dose), he said, adding the vaccination drive launched on January 16 last has been intensified.
The state has recorded total 16,853 COVID-19 cases, including 4 active cases, 16,786 recoveries and 56 deaths till April 6 last. However, Arunachal was declared coronavirus-free state on February 28. The recovery and positivity rates then were are at 99.66% and 0% respectively, recalled Dr Padung, also state immunisation officer.
