Trout fisheries complex site gets Taki’s approval

MECHUKA, Apr 08: The proposed site to set up a state of art trout fisheries complex in Lhallung village of Shi-Yomi district was appreciated on Thursday by Agriculture, Horticulture, Veterinary and Fisheries Minister Tage Taki, who was accompanied with state assembly Speaker Pasang D Sona.

While interacting with department officials and land owners, the minister on a tour to the district, assured all possible help for success of project.

The duo inspected ongoing trail-cum-demonstration garden in Segong village where various fruiting trees have been planted at Segong village. District horticulture officer, while briefing them, said that it would be used for creating awareness on high value crops and impart training to farmers.

Taki suggested the DHO to choose such crops which not only suit the natural condition of the area but also have high market value.

Both planted tree saplings in the garden and released fingerling in the garden fish pond besides distributing storage carats to Lhallung-based AAJA self help group members. They also visited the trout farm. (PRO)
