My statement on ‘Freedom of Girl’ misinterpreted: Roshni

NAHARLAGUN, Aug 31: Roshni Dada, the first women from the state to represent in MTV super model of the Year Season-2 on Tuesday clarified that her statement on ‘Freedom of Girl’ and ‘lack of proper shows and photographers’ in the state was misinterpreted by the public and was never meant to hurt any individual, community or the state as a whole.

Criticism came pouring on Roshni Dada views from the very day of the first episode of MTV show aired on August 22 last.

Clarifying on her statement at a press conference held at a City hotel here, Roshni said that she could have clarified her statement earlier but due to some personal reasons and repeated troll on social media, she could not do the same.

Roshni said that the word ‘freedom of girl’ used in the show was to state that modeling as a career in the state is not considered as a safe career for a girl, which was also in context to her personal experience.

“Modeling and any beauty pageant is not much acceptable in our state for a girl child in comparison to basic education, which I meant to say. I never meant to say girls in our state have no freedom,” she said.

Roshni added that she had never thought that her statement would have led to trolling of Miss Arunachal organization as well in various social media platforms.

“Miss Arunachal organization is not to be blamed for my statement in the first episode of the MTV show. Likewise, I have also spoken about the greatness, support of the state government and each organization which was cut from the telecast due to the MTV show discretion,” she added.

She said, she treats every single member of the fraternity as family. Any words said in the MTV show were not to defame, rather it was just a comparison between a Pageant and Modeling show.

Also adding to the statement on ‘poor photographers in Miss Arunachal organization, she never meant to say that there are no good photographers.

“I’ve worked with many photographers before from the state and they are excellent. What I meant to say is that there are no professional photographers working as professionals,” she added.

She also appealed to the people of state to continue their support for her future endeavors.

Meanwhile, Managing Director (MD) of Miss Arunachal Tai Roket clarified that the Miss Aruanchal organization has no right to dictate Roshni as she completed her one year contract.

Roket also made it clear that the organization has not scripted the words which were uttered by Roshni in the show, which many of the people feel like and has been commenting on Facebook.

He appealed to the public to refrain from trolling Roshni Dada on social media, rather supporting her success, who is representing the state in a national platform.

Earlier, the Arunachal Regulatory Board of Calendar Events (ARBCE) had served a legal notice to the Miss Arunachal Organization on August 24 to clarify the remarks made by Roshni Dada, who is also a former Miss Arunachal 2019.

Among others, ARBCE Chairman Mallo Attu, Chairman of Arunachal Got Talent (AGT) Hillang Nima, Vice Chairman of Mr Arunachal Tarh Rikam and Advisor to Dada Welfare Society (DWS) Bruce Jille Dada were present on the day.
