APCC mourns demise of Fernandes

ITANAGAR, Sep 14: The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has mourned the death of veteran Congress leader and former union minister Oscar Fernandes who breathed his last at a private hospital in Mangalore on Monday. He was 80.

Expressing grief over the demise, APCC president and former chief minister Nabam Tuki said that Fernandes was a hardworking, vibrant and popular organizational leader and well respected political figure of the country.

“Fernandes’s committed service for the interest of the Indian National Congress and the welfare and development of the country will always be remembered. He will continue to inspire and motivate the next generation of young leaders. His demise is a huge loss to the Congress,” Tuki said in his condolence message on Tuesday.

I extend my deepest condolences to the bereaved family members and loved ones and pray to almighty to give them comfort and strength to bear the irreparable loss caused to them. May his great soul rest in eternal peace, Tuki said.
