Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Mama Natung attending the programme, said the state government and the department of sports in particular, is always ready to provide every facility to sports organisations to encourage and involve youths in sports activities.

PAA President Nabam James said the idea behind the championship is to select players from the state to participate in the upcoming 4th National Para-Badminton Championship-2021, which is scheduled to be held in Odisha.

He said there is a strict direction by the PCI that every individual taking part in sports should go through the selection process from the state sports federation concerned. PAA accordingly organised the selection process during the championship.
