Outreach on Azadi Mahotsav

TEZU, Dec 30: The Field Outreach Bureau in Lohit district on Thursday organised an integrated communication and outreach programme on ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, which was attended by the teaching staff and senior students of the Government Secondary School here.

TGT Kalyani Brahma, while speaking on the occasion as a resource person, appreciated the initiatives of Prime Minister Narendra Modiji for launching the Mahotsav to mark the celebration of 75 years of India’s Independence.

She emphasised the need of the hour to take the stories of lesser-known freedom fighters of the country to the general public.

She further stated that due to lack of proper documentation, the heroic deeds of the freedom fighters and their contribution towards the freedom struggle remained in darkness and added that there are many unsung heroes from the North East who fought against the British bravely and sacrificed their life.

Headmaster of the school, DK Nath opined that the programme organised by FOB, Tezu was very informative especially to the present student community who are unaware of the unsung heroes of the North East as these are not available in their academic studies.

Earlier, the head of the office of FOB, P Sonowal apprised the gathering of the aims and objectives of organising the programme, a press release said here.
