Police nabs swindler

ITANAGAR, Mar 30: Papum Pare have arrested Paul Debbarma, a resident of Agartala and employed as manager of a swimming pool at Midpu, who had fled away with Rs. 6,80,000.

On receipt of a complaint from swimming pool owner Tana Tamar Tara, a resident of Midpu-II, Doimukh, on March 24 last, Doimukh SDPO Bomken Basar registered a case No. 16/2022 U/S 406 IPC with Doimukh police station, endorsed it to SI Balkar Singh and pursued it under the supervision of SP Dr. Neelam Nega.

A police team including HC T.D Goiba, constables M. Thapa and H Dutta led by Singh, raided various locations in Shillong and finally arrested the accused person with help of Meghalaya Police on Tuesday.

He admitted his guilt during interrogation and was produced before Yupia court which remanded him to two-day police custody.

Thus, Dr. Nega has urged the business community not to get anyone employed without verifying his antecedent and character.
