Mayor inspects SWM plant at Karsingsa

KARSINGSA, May 14: IMC Mayor Tame Phassang along with corporators and officials of the corporation on Saturday inspected the ongoing construction of the solid waste management (SWM) plant here, to review its work progress.

The mayor directed the engineers to complete the work in the stipulated time.

“The IMC is all set to install the SWM plant once the construction of the approach road gets completed,” Phassang said.

He further that one of the major challenges of the corporation is to dispose of garbage.

“Until and unless there is no proper solid waste management plant, our efforts to make the city clean will incomplete,” he pointed out.

The mayor informed that once completed, the SWMP will cover Naharlagun, Nirjuli and Banderdewa areas including, some of the adjoining areas.

Earlier, the mayor also inaugurated CC pavement road at Niya Colony under Banderdewa during the morning. The locals apprised the Phassang for construction of approach roads and drain in the colonies.

While responding to the representation of the locals, the mayor advised them to submit their grievances to the local Corporator and he further assured them to look into their grievances accordingly.

The mayor was accompanied by corporators, Lokam Anand, Tamuk Tagiang, Gora Tallang, Tarh Achak, Arun Kipa Loram, Town Planning and ULBs director Likha Suraj, IMC EAC Datum Gadi, executive engineer Yumlam Take, assistant engineers and other officials. (PRO)
