Natung discuss schools’ issues with Munda, Rijiju

NEW DELHI, Jun 28: Environment & Forest Minister Mama Natung on Tuesday called on union Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda at his official residence in New Delhi and discussed pending issues of additional infrastructure under Ekalavya Model Residential School (EMRS) at Lumla and Bana.

Natung was accompanied by MLAs from East Kameng including, Tapuk Taku (Seppa East), Guruk Pordung (Bameng) and Hayeng Mangfi Chayang Tajo).

The union minister assured Natung of immediate release of the balance fund under the scheme and further assured construction of Tribal Cultural Convention Hall and Multipurpose Cultural Building at Seppa which, was announced by him during his visit to Seppa to grace the Golden Jubilee Nyokum Yullo Festival 2022.

Natung and his team also called on Law and Justice Minister Kiren Rijiju at his office during the day and discussed the problems faced by JNV School at Seppa.

Rijiju spoke with the authorities of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) who assured for immediate work allocation for construction of boys and girls hostel, teachers quarter and the compound boundary wall during the current academic session.

It was also assured by NVS that a principal would be posted for JNV Seppa on priority basis.

A technical team would also visit the school to study the feasibility of viable solution to water problem.

They also discussed approval from Ministry of RTH to declare Chayangtajo-Seppa road (81 Km) as National Highway on priority basis, an official communiqué informed here.
