Flood-hit AVN inspected, rebuilding plan soon: Tagak

NAHARLAGUN, Jun 29: Plans are afoot to build toilets within a fortnight despite incessant rains for students of residential Abotani Vidya Niketan (AVN), its founder-chairman Tai Tagak said.

The toilet complex and potion of playground of the AVN were washed away by flood fury of Pachin River in Pachin Colony here on Tuesday while rising water level poses serious threat to boys’ hostel.

While Naharlagun EAC Likha Radh inspected the damaged are on Tuesday, WRD officials led by Itanagar Division EE Techi Topu, IMC ward 14 Corporator Gyamar Tuvin inspected on Wednesday.

The AVN, a coeducational secondary school set up in 1994 under the aegis of Arunachal Shiksha Vikas Samiti, state unit of Vidya Bharati, aims at imparting quality education to students belonging to downtrodden sections of the society.

The Vidya Bharati runs 35 such schools across Arunachal Pradesh, all affiliated to CBSE and state education board, Tagak added.
