AMYAA conducts legal awareness prog

ANINI, Aug 30: NGO AMYAA in collaboration with Dibang Valley district administration conducted a day-long legal awareness with motto ‘Know your rights and fight for your rights’, sponsored by Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW).

AMMYA president R.K Paul Chawang lauded efforts of APSCW for bringing awareness among vulnerable section of the state. He urged the members not to employee any child under 14 years of age as domestic helper and warned for legal action against perpetrators.

ADC D.J. Borah highlighted various issues related to polygamy and domestic violence. CDPO Dilip Linggi, SP Rajendra Singh Sagar, advocates Asomi Mega and Ebo Mili spoke on parenting, domestic violence, drug abuse and polygamy & POCSO respectively.

APSCW member Maya Pulu interacted with the students to make them aware about stress related issues while APSCW member Nurang Nama, as chief guest, lauded the audience for attending to get enlightened. She also explained about formation, importance and role of the APSCW. SDO (HQs) N. Borang also spoke. (DIPRO)
