APCTA condemns act by DPGC students

ITANAGAR, Sep 22: The Arunachal Pradesh College Teachers’ Association (APCTA) Thursday condemned the heinous act staged by a few students of Donyi Polo Government College (DPGC) Kamki, on the night of September 19, led by Sokli Bogo of BA V semester, after he lost the college students’ union election for the post of General Secretary.

“The incident of hooliganism, gherao and life threatening acts to college teachers and their family has shocked APCTA,” said Associate Professor Narmi Darang, APCTA President.

He added that such cheap act dishearten and demoralise the teaching community who give in their lives to teach, change the lives of their students and undertake all unthankful odd works.

APCTA general secretary Associate Professor Tumbom Riba, while condemning the horrific and disgraceful incident said that she was shocked and could not believe such sickening turn of events faced by teachers who are dedicated to the future of their students.

The APCTA stands in solidarity with the teachers of Donyi Polo Government College, Kamki in their pen-down-strike from September 21 and also appealed the concerned authorities to fulfill the demands of justice and reprimands placed by them.

All the units of APCTA shall sit in a silent protest dharna on Friday at respective colleges in solidarity with the traumatised teachers of DPGC, a press release informed here.
