APPSC fiasco: SIC arrests 2 more, taking total to 22

ITANAGAR, Nov 29: The special investigation cell (SIC) of Arunachal Pradesh Police has arrested two more Govt officials in connection with irregularities in Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Combined Competitive Examination (APPSCCE) conducted by the APPSC in 2017.

Those arrested have been arrested question leakage case and identified as serving junior engineers, identified as Yiter Raksap (34) and Mopin Sora (28).

According to the SIC, Raksap, a native of Boru Raksap village in West Siang district, was posted as an assistant engineer in Liromoba PWD division while Sora is s junior engineer in Pagin PHE& Water supply division and belongs to Tuba Sora village of West Siang district.

SIC SP Anant Mittal said that the duo was arrested on the basis of the FIR lodged bt Kesto Loirak and seven other deprived candidates of APPSCCE-2017.

The case was registered under SIC (vigilance) (No 12/2022) u/s 120(B) 420/406/409 of the IPC read with section 7/8/13 (2) of the PC act, 1988.

The SIC had also arrested one Ashiram Mibang (59), a native of Panging village in Siang district, from Boleng on November 19 in connection with the same case, the SP said, adding that total 22 persons have been arrested so far.

He said that all arrests were made following detailed interrogation and technical and financial analysis of the suspects.

“The SIC investigation into paper leakage is going on and all facts are being investigated in details.  All legal formalities and norms of professionalism are being maintained during probe,” Mittal said, adding that the SIC is committed to ensure justice for the aggrieved.
