Speaking to reporters, the deputy speaker said that the bridge would benefit old Changlang and new Changlang.

He informed that the bridge is very old constructed during 1986-87.

“Since then there has been no renovation and recently it was dismantled and replaced by a new one. Other villages like Dunglung, Kantang and others nearby also have benefitted because it has cut short around six to seven kilometers of travelling. For college students also it has helped them to shorten their walking distance,” he said.

Pongte who represents Changlang district, said a detailed project report for construction of PMGSY road towards Changlang Town with an estimate of Rs 48 crore has been proposed to the state government.
