ITANAGAR, Jan 24: Gumto Circle Border Land Affected People’s Forum (GCBLWPF) and Banderdewa Circle Border Committee (BCBC) jointly organised peaceful protest against Inter-State Regional Committee of Papumpare and Lakhimpur district minutes of the meeting here at Yupia.
The protestors alleged that three villages such as Banderdewa, Tanihapa and Pichola have been excluded from Arunachal Pradesh map.
During the protest, villagers claimed that regional inspection committee did not visit the actual border disputed areas before preparing the map.
Meantime, the protesters resented, saying ‘No to regional committee’s decision and yes to Supreme Court appointed local committee Tarun Chattertjee’ decision.
Speaking to media persons, Papumpare DC Sachin Rana said that state Govt is taking up the matter with Assam to protect rights of indigenous people.
“To clear any doubts and miscommunication, public should approach office of the DC or CO to take appropriate steps to resolve the issues, “ said Rana.
Both states’ regional committee members are in constant contact to sort out the problems, he added.
Appealing the public to maintain cordial relationship till final inspection is not carried out, DC said that both state Govts are doing their best to protect the interest of Banderdewa, Tarroso, Taposo and Kimil circle’s dwellers.
