Assam-Arunachal boundary issue | Thanks giving ceremony organised for regional committee of Assam

ITANAGAR, May 30: A thanks giving ceremony in honour of Assam-Arunachal Pradesh Regional Committees of Biswanath, Sonitpur and Pakke Kessang districts, was organised at Namora village under Dissing circle of Pakke Kessang district on Tuesday.

The event was attended by state Environment and Forest Minister Mama Natung,  Biswanath MLA Promod Borthakur, Sootea MLA Padma Hazirika, DC and SPs from both the states, ZPC  Pakke Kessang among others.

Natung, who is also the chairman the regional committee from Arunachal, while speaking on the occasion, said that the boundary dispute with Assam and Arunachal Pradesh was the 50 years old.

“Today the BJP led governments in both the states by Himanta Biswa Sarma and Pema Khandu resolved the decades-old impasse with the blessing of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home minister Amit Shah,” he said.

Natung highlighted on various developmental programs in the state stated that the people of the state are witnessing a sea change in terms of developmental activities.

While appreciating the leadership of Prime Minister for all round development in all front, Natung added that the celebration of nine years of Modi government and seven years Khandu government in the state is all set to celebrate from May 30 to June 30.

The minister also administered pledged to all the dignitaries on the lifestyle for the environment to make possible changes in daily lifestyle to protect the environment.

State BJP President Biyuram Wahge, who is also the local MLA of Pakke Kessang, while welcoming the dignitaries said that the people of Dissing Pisso circle are very happy for resolving the age-old boundary dispute between both the neighbouring states, especially in between Biswanath and Pakke Kessang districts.

Wahge added that the such a noble initiative was taken under the dynamic leadership of Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sharma and his Arunachal counterpart Pema Khandu with the blessings of the PM and the home minister.

Wahge thanked the regional committee chairman of Assam Pijush Hazarika, Minister of Water Resources, and Natung for their efforts in hammering out a solution to the decades-old dispute.

Conservator of forest V K Jaswal highlighted on the mission life and its importance.

Behali MLA Rankjt Dutta and member of the regional committee Pramod Borthakur MLA Biswanath, highlighted the Biswanath-Pakke Kessang boundary issues and appreciated both the committees for their hard work and effort to resolved the long pending issues.

Earlier, Natung also launched the mission life and planted trees along with Biyuram Wahge, Ranjit Dutta, Promod Borthakur, DC, SP and other dignitaries.

Natung also distributed led bulbs to villagers through ZPC and GB in presence of Wahge.
