Alumni-alma mater meet | Kongkra Cohorts gift essential items to Naharlagun Govt HSS

NAHARLAGUN, Sept 08: Alumni of Naharlagun Govt. HS School, batches 1995(X) and 1997-98 (XII), popularly known as The Kongkra Cohorts, organized an Alumni-Alma mater meet-cum-career counseling in school premises here on Friday which saw participation of alumni, faculty members and 400 plus class-XII students of all three streams.

Alumni Association (AA) president-cum-Roing Division Brahmaputra Board EE Jumdo Kena handed over 25 ceiling fans for class rooms and five CCTVs with complete set up to school principal amidst cheers.

The AA also announced three annual academic awards with cash award for first three toppers, one in each stream of class- XII from the current academic session onwards to instill healthy competitions among the students.

Interacting with the students and teachers, AA member & RGU joint registrar Dr. David Pertin gave an overview of career options with focus on studies and preparedness for entrances, like CUET, RGUCET, JEE, IEEE, NEE tests, company secretary entrance test, common proficiency tests etc. and informed about the courses after class XII as per National Education Policy-2020 guidelines.

Earlier, school principal Koj Tajang lauded noble gesture and contribution of essential needs of the school by  Kongkra Cohorts alumni association. Vice principal Phassang Sama and PGT mathematics Sanjay Sharma also spoke.

Basar EAC Khoda Bath, hydropower EE Hage Gambo, PWD JE Takhe Meenu, CRC-ICR coordinator Sanjeev Chetry, young politician Jomin Nyokir Kara and social activist and former school general secretary Nawan Lamnio, among others, were present.
