2 peddlers nabbed with drug

AALO, Sept 18:  West Siang district police arrested two drug peddlers, namely Mikjum Ete and Sri Raju Vishkarma on Sunday and seized 10.54 grm suspected heroin.

On receipt of a reliable input one Mikjum Ete along with his friend Raju Vishkarma would transport contraband in a Alto Mmaruti car (bearing registration No AR-01Q-5821 to Aalo along Likabali-Aalo road. SP Abhimanyu Poswal constituted a team comprising of Inspector, Aalo PS OC Duto Bagra, SIs Moli Kamdak, Lakhi Mena & Likha John, H/C S.K Singh, constables B Ingo, T. Taikam, M. Hemi and. N.Ori.

The team set up naka at Darka Bridge near Darka village along with executive magistrate Maryom Karlo and Paktu Aao Youth Welfare Association members. The said car was intercepted at 10.15 pm and the duo was arrested. During body search, one soap case packed in polythene containing suspected heroin weighing 10.54 grm were recovered and seized along with two mobile handsets and the car under close supervision of the SP.

A case (No 57/23 U/S 21(b)/27 (a) of NDPS Act) was registered with Aalo PS and both accused were remanded to police custody, the SP said in a release.
