Tezu Airport | Flybig halts flying from till Dec 31

TEZU, Nov 18: Flybig air services operating from Tezu Airport in Lohit district has temporarily suspended its services till further update.

According to sources it had made its last flight services on November 7 and will be in long holiday so air services are to be closed down. “We don’t have aircraft, in the beginning we had three but due to technical reason only single aircraft has been operating on Tezu-Guwahati-Manipur and vice- versa, Itanagar-Guwahati which made the flight inept to operate as per prescribed schedule following shortage of aircraft”, the sources said.

The Flybig flying company is in offing to replace ATR-75 with bigger aircraft for which there will be no air services till December 31 next. If the GoAP is in need may hire another company to fill up the gab to resume air services for convenience of hill people, the sources added.

While appreciating public good response and healthy growth of air services at Tezu Airport, Airport Authority of India (AAI), Tezu said sudden halt of Flybig services is big loss for public of Lohit and adjoining districts. They heartily responded and good turned up of passenger since the beginning. The GoAP has to find out immediate alternate to avail regular air services for the overall development of this district and tourism services as well.
