Cooperation of masses needed to speed up state building: Guv

ITANAGAR, Nov 28: Governor Lt. General (Retd) K T Parnaik, who visited Hurii, one of the Vibrant Border Villages (VBVs) in remote Damin circle of Kurung Kumey district on Tuesday, while interacting with GBs, PRI members, Govt officials and villagers led by local MLA Lokam Tassar, said that Arunachal Pradesh is making rapid progress in all sectors.

The efforts need cooperation and contribution of the masses, he said and exhorted them to encourage their children to go to schools, maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the village, protect their flora and fauna and assist state machinery in implementing welfare schemes and projects.

Informing about various GoAP and GoI flagship programmes, he advised Govt officials to work in a mission mode and ensure all eligible persons to avail benefits

The GoI to facilitate development in border areas has initiated a VBV programme, where basic needs of people will be offered. He said that it is a collaborative developmental approach and requires concerted effort of the local habitants and the security forces.

Later, he interacted with security forces there.  including Rajputana Rifles, Indo-Tibetan Border Police and Border Roads Organization and advised them to carry out regular training and remain alert while patrolling the Line of Actual Control besides guide local youth to join armed forces. (PRO)
