ITANAGAR, Jan 30:  Koloriang, Damin, Parsi-Parlo Students’ Union (KDPPSU) on Tuesday demanded posting of 17 ANMs and GNMs to Kurung Kumey district by state mission director of National Rural Health Mission’s (NRHM).

Addressing media persons at the APC, the students’ body president Keji Chabok claimed that the union has been submitting representation and reminding the department concern for posting of relievers in a phased manner against posts lying vacant for last many years. The transfer and posting of staff was initiated without following the guidelines, he said.

“The nurses, who were transferred, should have been relieved from their posting places and their relievers would have joined as per guidelines, which were not followed. Thus, we demand either posting back those nurses or post new ones,” Chabok said.

Damin block public health centres have been running without block data managers and block account managers since inception, he claimed, dding that the union has been knocking the door of every officer for greater welfare of the masses, but to its utter dismay nurses were transferred without relievers in violation of guidelines, general secretary Chello Tugbin said.

Pointing out that they would not wait anymore just with mere assurance of the department and local MLAs, the KDPPSU cautioned to initiate series of rigorous democratic movement, if its demand is not met soon.
