BJKM role vital to increase agri-horti production; Tagik

ITANAGAR, Jan 06: Arunachal Pradesh offers huge scope to convert its natural resources to encashable resources for heralding multifaceted development, which has been turned into a reality after Chief Minister Pema Kahndu took over the rein of BJP-led Govt, said newly appointed executive member of Bharatiya Janata Kisan Morcha (BJKM) Sangha Tagik.

Arunachal Pradesh is an agrarian state with over 70% of its total population dependent on agriculture and horticulture for their livelihood. The state produced 24755.38 metric tonnes of agri-horticulture crops of rice, maize, millet, potato, ginger, mustard, off season vegetables, large cardamom and other cash crops in 46,000 hectares land in 2023.Thus, the BJKM could play a pivotal role of to encourage farmers to adopt high yielding varieties of various crops and expand cultivated areas to increase production to make the stata an exporter, added Tagik, who served as Kurung Kumey ZPC.
