ITANAGAR, Apr 01: Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) on Monday claimed that the party would win with thumping majority in ensuing general elections and form government in the Centre.

The state government always depends on the Centre for funds for development for which the BJP would merge with Congress, if it forms government in Delhi, APCC general secretary Kipa Kaha told media persons at APC here on Monday.

The state government needs to generate only 10% funds from its own resources for the Centre to contribute 90% for infrastructure development in the state, he said.

Pointing out that Congress party led by former chief minister Nabam Tuki is making all possible efforts toeing party’s ideology, Kaha said that once the party forms the government, it would solve all problems to end suffering od the masses, particularly the farmers and below poverty line (BPL) category.

The worst difficulties faced by BPL people now are inflation and unemployment for which the Congress would attach top priority to solve both issues.

The party would adhere to its election agenda, like salary upgradation; social, political and economic justice,  Kaha said and assured that Rs one lakh would be transferred into the account of BPL people every year.

Unlike the present ruling government which did not fulfil its promises after getting support of the people to win in 2019, the Congress would not do that. But, the Congress on coming to power would re-introduce Old Pension Scheme and scrap New Pension Scheme, he added.
