DC inaugurates HWC

ITANAGAR, July 09: Capital DC Shweta Nagarkoti Mehta after inaugurating new health and wellness centre (HWC) at Hokka village near Jollang on Tuesday urged the residents to avail basic health services and support its staff.

Stressing importance of public cooperation in implementing Govt initiatives, she assured full support to ensure its efficient functioning.

The HWC would serve a large population, ZPM Taro Tagia said and discussed plans to equip it with more medical equipment in future.

DMO Dr. Kipa Tuglik stressed importance of maintaining a healthy life, especially as one ages while DRCHO Dr. Krishna Welly said that the new facility replaced the old center at Birup village, which had become unfit for use. The project was completed through the collaborative efforts of capital health staff, local youth and PRI leader, he said. The DC and ZPM planted trees in the campus to mark the event.

Unattended vehicles along NH-415 removed

Meanwhile, Capital DTO Techi Tukap and his team removed all unattended vehicles parked haphazardly along NH-415 and sector roads, which were obstructing the free flow of traffic as directed by the DC.

The DTO had issued a notice on June 25 directing owners to remove their vehicles from roads and to move to safer locations within seven days of the notice. Some vehicle owners responded and those who did not comply were directed to remove.

Twenty-eight unattended vehicles were removed, towed and seized and kept at Lekhi DTO office complex of Inter State Truck Terminal STT) Lekhi under section 201 of CMV Act 1988, including four unclaimed vehicles seized. Such drive will continue in future, according to the DC. (DIPRO)
