Banker saves 6 from drowning boat

From Litem Eshi Ori PASIGHAT, Nov 08: Kokong Tamuk, son of Tasup Tamuk of Pangi village of Siang district, saved six persons from drowning in Siang River on Tuesday. Tamuk, a bank employee, was returning after attending funeral service of Pangi GB on a motorboat with five others to join duty at Aalo. The boat was stuck midstream and drifting away by strong current when Tamuk jumped into the river, took the boat rope between his teeth and pulled the boat across to the bank by saving all on board.

90 trucks timbers to be sent by train

From Our Correspondent PASIGHAT, Nov 06:  Timbers from Arunachal Pradesh transported by trucks are stocked  in Murkong Selek railway station of Jonai in Dhemaji district of Assam to be transported to other states by train. Local people were surprised to see huge stock of timbers, about 90 trucks from East Siang district, according to informed sources.
