CM’s assures, MoUDC hints at temporary stir suspension

ITANAGAR | Mar  30 | Chief Minister Pema Khandu today assured Ranganadi Hydro Electric Project (RHEP) MoU Demand Committee (MoUDC) to look into its long pending issues relating to 405-MW RHEP.

Khandu during a meeting with MoUDC delegates assured to call a meeting with RHEP board of directors to discuss on fresh MoU, discrepancies in land compensation and deprivation of jobs to local youths besides taking it up with Union Power Ministry soon.

Terming the issue new for him, he urged them to allow  time to study the matter and directed the hydropower department to collect all documents, letters and information on RHEP project for ready reference.

The delegates following CM’s informed to temporarily suspend its agitation, slated to begin from April 1 next.

The MoUDC, in a memorandum, had sought NEEPCO ED office at Itanagar, strict implementation of CSR-CD schemes on need basis and 1% free power from NEEPCO for local area development.

Former CM-cum-Sagalee MLA Nabam Tuki, Supply & Transport Parliamentary Secretary Likha Saaya, finance commissioner Ashis Kundra and MoUDC chairman Taba Techi attended the meeting. (PRO)
