MoRTH sanctions Chandranagar to Papu Nallah stretch 4-lane work

437 eviction notices served, drive from Apr 21: ADM

ITANAGAR | Apr 09 | Union MoRTH  has sanctioned  10-km Chandranagar-Papu Nallah stretch for four-lane construction in first phase whose tender under engineering procurement contract (EPC) is in process and the successful bidder may startwithin three weeks.

ADM-cum-chief estate officer Talo Potom, appointed highway administrator recently, disclosed  to this daily today. The GoI has ordered to clear the unauthorised occupation of right of way (RoW) from Itanagar to Banderdewa. But the next  drive will cover Papu Nallah-Chandranagar portion based on alignment in the first phase, he said.

Informing that total 1084 land encroachers of NH-415 have been  identified and 437 served notices since April 7 last informing about eviction drive from April 21 next, Potom said, adding the illegally built portion of the premises were marked in presence of building owners after responding to their several queries.

The MoRTH  notification issued on  April 5 last announced PWD EEs as administrators for various stretches of road: Naharlagun highway division for 19.26-km Hollongi-Itanagar; Doimukh highway division for 9.66-km Papu-Yupia, 20.4-km Yupia-Hoj and 19.60-km  Hoj-Potin  (713 A) while CEO for 31.5-km Itanagar-Banderdewa (NH-415) respectively.

The construction agency will take over the land immediately after the eviction to start construction when traffic will be diverted through Jully.
