Bhupenda’s statue crosses Dhola-Sadiya Bridge

 

ITANAGAR | May 30 | Ten-feet tall statue of Indian Culture doyen Dr. Bhupen Hazarika crossed Dhola-Sadiya Bridge over river Brahmaputra on  Sunday last, after the bridge was named after Bhupenda two days ago by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Arunachal Pradesh Literary Society (APLS), headed by its president Y.D. Thongchi, which had urged the PM in this respect,  in a letter, conveyed its gratitude to PM for honouring its plea.

The statue has reached Bolung village, Bhupenda’s birth place, for installation where the spade works were on in full swing, according to an APLS release.
