‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ held to mark Gandhi Jayanti

ITANAGAR | Oct 02 | Social service and cleanness drive were conducted at various places in the state today to mark as Gandhi jayanti, which coincided with the culmination of the ongoing ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’.

Few media persons with support of small children of the IG Park Power House Colony conducted social service to clean its approach road including the road that links NH-415 to Power House.

The drive initiated by former IMC chief councilor Higio Arun, later councilor Tagru Tadik, was joined by social workers Tayer Kaso and senior citizens, youth, women SHG members. The team cleaned IG Park middle school area while huge garbage collected in ward-11 was reportedly not  lifted by IMC vehicle. Aruni also attended social service in F and E sectors which was joined by accounts & treasuries director Techi Tadap.

Councilor Gora Lotak facilitated cleanness drive in ward-18 in which local residents actively in cleaning jungle, drainage in A & B sectors and Raj Bhawan area.

Councilor Gora Tallang took part in cleanness drive in Chandranager area in his ward with youth and school students. They cleaned the jungle both side of NH-415 and collected garbage.

Councilor Tatung Tania attended social service in his ward in Gohpur Tinali and sub way in his locality along with youth and local residents. Ward members along with local residents took part in social service in C-II sector.

Councilor Ngurang Yachi sponsored campaign covered Division-IV, Senki Park and other areas.

At Naharlagun,  BSNL authority conducted the campaign at Apex Bank HO campus and D Sector area in which ADC-cum-CEO Talo Potom, BSNL GM Dilip Siram, councilor Tarh Kunya, Apex Bank MD,  DOTC director and communication sector officials joined.

At Polo Colony in Ward-21, local residents organised social serve and cleaned the campus of GHS School and Market area.

At Doimukh, 12th Bn NDRF conducted the campaign at Emchi from fishery training centre road to IOC depot. IN all 180 NDRF personnel and  34 villagers and few PRI members took part,

NDRF 2nd in command Arun Deogam, commandant medical Dr. G.M. Sharma & Dr. K. L. Rongmei, assistant commandant I Somorendro Singh and Ajay Bahadur Singh among others, joined the sanitation drive.

At Balijan, cleanness drive, supported by ADC office, marked Gandhi Jayanti in the circle, attended by local resident and PRI members. Saplings were planted in PHC and ADC office campus, attended by Balijan EAC J Padu and other officers.

Parsuram Kund gets facelift

Our Correspondent adds from Tezu: A mass cleanliness drive under the campaign on Sunday to clean  in Parsuram Kund.

Lohit district HQs, hundreds of student from Wakro Govt secondary school, ITBP personnel, departmental staffs, AMSU, PRI and NGO took part to give a complete facelift to the holy site. Minister, DC and Lohit ZPC Patam Rangmang also joined.

AH &Veterinary, Dairy Development, Research, Art & Culture Dr Mohesh Chai, in his address, said that cleanliness should be topmost priority for all to maintain its sanctity and  attract more tourists. The SBA has literally brought a sense of culture among all to ensure neat and clean environment.

This mass cleanliness drive and shresta swachhta, supported by  PHED & DUDA, in this holy kund is highly appropriate to ensure cleanliness to promote more tourist flow, the DC said.

Dr Chai awarded best social worker including GoAP staff, student and public to motivate them and flagged off a truck inscribed with‘Swachhata Hi Seva’.

The Kund is located 50-km away from district HQs Tezu.
