DLSA holds Legal awareness camp

ROING | Nov 17 | Legal awareness camp-cum-free legal aid counseling was organized by District Legal Service Authority in collaboration with Lower Dibang Valley District Roing Bar Association at Bolung GHSS here today involving school fraternity led by principal Abu Saring and public.

CJM-cum-DLSA member-secretary Tage Halley, while highlighting aims and objective, said that holding such event involving different sections of the district is an attempt to provide basic legal knowledge and aids to eligible individuals. He informed that the 10-day programme which begun on November 9, would conclude on  November 18 and sought co-operation for its successful to empower UTPs/citizens with legal knowledge.

He along with other legal aid counsellers advocates Atet Pertin, Kange Tayeng, Minni Linggi and Bulla Pulu spoke on issues related to fundamental rights & duties, legal aid clinic, lok adalat, woman’s rights to protect from domestic violence & u/s 125 CrPC, Arunachal Pradesh Victim Compensation Ccheme-2011, Consumers Rights, POCSO, Right to Education, legal aspect of drug abuse (NDPS, ACT.1985) & AFR, 1945 etc .

NALSA’s documentary was displayed and prizes were given to essay wiriting competition winners.

As a part of Legal Awareness campaign in the district A motor vehicle/bike rally was organized from general ground to GHSS, Bolung through NH-37 & 313 and vice-versa by DLSA to mark the occasion. (DIPRO)
